ISLAMABAD: Pakistan thrashed Guam 3-0 to top the Pool H and move into the top eight cadre of the Davis Cup Juniors (Under-16) Tournament underway in Sri Lanka. After outplaying Bahrain 3-0 in the opening tie, Pakistan got the better of Guam with the same margin.
Abu Bakar Talha won against Oliver ScHalumann without losing a single game 6-0, 6-0. Hamza Roman also won his match easily against Junhyuk Seo 6-2, 6-0. Mikaeel Shahbaz then teamed up with Abu Bakar to beat Jaren Vera and Junhyuk Seo 6-0, 6-0 to give Pakistan 3-0 victory.
Meanwhile, the handing-taking over of the Pakistan Tennis Federation took place on 20th February 2024 at PTF-SDA Tennis Complex Islamabad.
Outgoing President, Senator Salim Saifullah Khan, handed over the PTF reigns to Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, who was elected President-PTF in the recently held PTF elections on the 10th of February 2024.
Senator Salim Saifullah Khan felicitated Aisam and said he was confident Aisam would work hard to promote and develop tennis throughout Pakistan.
Aisam thanked Senator Salim Saifullah Khan and assured him that he would work tirelessly for the betterment of tennis and especially focus on player development as well as the development of tennis infrastructure in the country.
